Training course on Religion and Rule of Law

From 14 to 23rd of September 2015, TASS together with USSH – VNU, IGE, Brigham Young University had successfully organized a training course on Religion and Rule of Law in Hanoi.
The course focus on presenting a comparing and pragmatic overview of religion and rule of law in Vietnam and other countries in the world. The content includes: approaches to religion and law, relation between religion and law, theories for studying religion and law, practical experiences solving issues relating to religion and law in several countries, achievements in implementing Vietnam’s policies on religion, experiences in building laws on religion…

08:00 - St. Joseph's Cathedral, Hanoi

We will start our tour with the visit of St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Hanoi – 40 Nha Chung Street, Hoan Kiem District. It is the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Hanoi. Construction began in 1886 by French architecture, with the architectural style described as resembling Notre Dame de Paris. It opened in December 1886 and it is the oldest church in Hanoi.

09:15 - The Protestant Church in the North of Viet Nam

We continue to visit The Protestant Church in the North of Viet Nam – 02 Ngo Tram. Here we will have chance to join to the ceremony at 09.30.

10:30 - Al- Nour Mosque, Cua Bac Church (Church of Martyrs)

Visit to Al- Nour Mosque – 12 Hang Luoc Street, Hoan Kiem District. This is the only mosque in northern Vietnam. That was built from the late 19th century.

Then we continue to visit Cua Bac Church (Church of Martyrs) – a Roman Catholic church in Hanoi with the French architecture.

11:45 - Lunch at nice local restaurant with Vietnamese cuisine

13:00 - Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda, the Quan Thanh Temple

Transfer to visit Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda. The oldest Buddhist temple in Hanoi, is located on a small island near the southeastern shore of Hanoi’s West Lake. Constructed in the sixth century during the reign of Emperor Lý Nam Đế (from 544 until 548), thus giving it an age of more than 1,450 years.

After that, we will visit the Quan Thanh Temple. This is a Taoist temple in Hanoi, Vietnam. Dated to the 11th century, the temple was dedicated to Xuan Wu, or “Trấn Vũ” in Vietnamese, one of the principal deities in Taoism as one of the Four Sacred Temples of the capital.

14:30 - Temple of Literature

Visit Temple of Literature. In 1076, Vietnam’s first university Quoc Tu Giam, was established within a temple to educate Vietnam’s royalty, mandarins and members of the elite. The university functioned for an incredible 700 years and its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a fascinating glimpse into Vietnam’s past.

15.30 - Ethnology Museum

Continue your tour at Ethnology Museum which consists of documents, antiques and photos of culture and rite of several ethnic communities from the North to the South of Vietnam. It is also well-known for its outdoor exhibition area, at which you could see real house or tombs of some minor groups in Vietnam.

17.30 - We will transfer you back to Hotel

We will transfer you back to Hotel. End of services.
