This journey is inspired by the many sights, sounds, flavours and community involvement activities of Southern Vietnam. It takes us on a journey, not only visiting the fantastic sights but also getting to know the country and its amazing people.
We offer you a unique experience & insight into everyday Vietnamese life and as well the educational activities, an increased sense of belonging to the local community.

FULL ITINERARY

DAY 1: SINGAPORE - HO CHI MINH CITY ( MOB, LUNCH, DINNER)

Gather at Changi Airport Terminal 2.
Check-in flight SQ186 to Ho Chi Minh city.
Departure for Ho Chi Minh city. Meal on board.
Arrived, clearance the Custom, meet up with our local tour guides and 2 local Translator who will help out for CIP at village school.
Dinner and follow by Briefing for the day in function room of hotel, and arranging teaching material for nest days service learning.
Lights out.

DAY 2: HO CHI MINH CITY – BEN TRE PROVINCE – HALF FIRST DAY OF SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAMME AT VILLAGE SCHOOL (B, L, D)

Wake up, wash up and have breakfast at hotel.
Check-out hotel in Ho Chi Minh city. Coach trip 2.5 hours to Ben Tre Province.
Arrive Ben Tre. Check-in Ham Luong hotel and having lunch at our hotel.
Proceed to our service learning project site – Thanh Trieu Primary School on Thoi Son Island (get the site by coach, not water base transport will be arranged) .
First half day service learning programme at Thanh Trieu Primary School:
Meeting with the principle of the school to get to know about the school and the student’s family condition.
Slit CJC students into main groups:
Soft CIP:
– Teaching English and improve their speaking and listening English skills via pictures, songs and games base on the subject you gonna teach the kids.
– Teaching art and craft.
– Playing games, exchange traditional games with local kids, try to involve to any local games of them and get all of them be involved to your teaching programme.
Hard CIP:
– Building a fence surround the school (in the right hands side of the school is a canal which is dangerous for the school kids during the rainy season or high tide season and there is not fence surround the school to avoid the small students fall down to the canal.
– Building a school gate and donate a school name signboard.
For the first day just get to know the project site and doing the clearance of the site.

DAY 3 -> DAY 5: SERVICE LEARNING PROGRAMME AT THANH TRIEU PRIMARY SCHOOL (B, L, D)

Wake up, wash up and have breakfast at hotel.
Full 3 days Service learning at the school
Soft CIP:
– Teaching English and improve their speaking and listening English skills via pictures, songs and games base on the subject you gonna teach the kids.
– Teaching art and craft.
– Playing games, exchange traditional games with local kids, try to involve to any local games of them and get all of them be involved to your teaching programme.
Hard CIP:
– Building a fence surround the school (in the right hands side of the school is a canal which is dangerous for the school kids during the rainy season or high tide season and there is not fence surround the school to avoid the small students fall down to the canal.
– Building a school gate and donate a school name signboard.
Say goodbye with the kids and back to our hotel in Tien Giang.
Dinner at our hotel (non-Halal Certified but no pork no lard).
Briefing in the restaurant of hotel.
Lights out. Overnight local in 3 star hotel of Tien Giang Province.

DAY 6: SUNDAY ACTIVITIES WITH BOAT TRIP LEARNING ABOUT LOCAL LIFE ON MEKONG DELTA AND HANDS ON ACTIVITIES (B, L, D)

Wake up, wash up and have breakfast at hotel.
Mekong Delta boat trip:
Take a boat on Bến Tre river – one of tributaries of Mekong river, Sight-seeing lively activities along river as fishing, water transferring … Stop at brickwork to see how to make bricks in handy traditional style by printing and baking. Visit one of plenty of coconut processing worshops located along canal. Turn on natural scissors creeks where they look smaller and smaller to go to village. Take a walk to family workshop making sleep mats and enjoying some fruits and tea
Lunch on the island
Drive back to Ben Tre
Visit the rice paddy fields and interact with local farmers to understand about Vietnam agriculture – rice water fields and local farmer’s life.
New experience with farming hands-on activities on the rice paddy fields: rice planting or rice harvesting (depends on the season, students will do hands on activities either rice harvesting or rice planting).
Back at hotel and ready for dinner

DAY 07: FULL DAY FOR SERVICE LEARNING AT THANH TRIEU SCHOOL - GIVING THE DONATIONS TO THE LOCAL STUDENTS AND FAREWELL (B, L, D)

Wake up, wash up and have breakfast at hotel.
Try to complete the VIA programme and finishing the project.
Afternoon: Giving donation items to local poor villagers, families and poor elderly of the village.
Back at the school for Farewell with the local students and offering the donation items such as stationary, pen and books to the local students.
Back at hotel. Shower and repacking your things.
Dinner in our hotel.
Briefing for the day in the hotel.
Lights out.

DAY 6: VISIT SAPA (B/L)

Around 06.00am, you’ll arrive at Lao Cai Station, a borderland city that looks over China and that is closest to Sapa Hill Resort. Transferred to Sapa.

The road is 40km long and very sightworthy with terraced paddy fields, small waterfalls and pinewoods. Have breakfast at your hotel in Sapa and leave your luggage here before hanging around with your tour guide to Sapa market, then climb up the DragonPeak to have the panorama of Sapa with pine trees, old colonial-styled villas and numerous hill tribal people.

Afternoon walk downhill from Sapa to Cat Cat village of the Hmong people (4km) to visit the daily life of the Hmong ethnic group and enjoy the landscape in Cat Cat. Overnight in Sapa. (dinner at your own arrangement)

DAY 7: A COLOURFUL WEEKLY MARKET IN BACHA SURROUNDINGS – LAOCAI (B/L/D)

Today should be Saturday, Sunday or Tuesday. Anyone of these days will offer us a great chance for a memorable trip to a weekly market of the hill tribes living surrounding Sapa. Alternatives are Can Cau market on Saturday, Bac Ha market on Sunday or Coc Ly market on Tuesday.

On Sunday, we can even choose to stay in SapaTown to enjoy the market of Black Hmong and Dzay people. To reach any of them, we will drive from Sapa about 3hours to the marketplace, where hundreds of people from tribes Hmong, Tay, Dzay, Dzao, Kinh gather for meeting, hanging around, shopping and exchanging their goods, especially fabrics and handicrafts weekly.

After enjoying the market for 2-3 hours, we can visit a village nearby the marketplace (alternatively), take a boat on Chay river (during Coc Ly market only) or leave for Lao Cai and have a look at the Chinese border in Lao Cai.

Take the night Train to Hanoi at 19.00 or 21.00 and overnight on the Train. (lunch at restaurant near the market; dinner in Laocai)

DAY 08: TRANSFER BACK TO HO CHI MINH CITY - CU CHI TUNNELS VISITING (B, L, D)

Wake up, wash up and have breakfast.
Check-out rooms and coach trip back to Ho Chi Minh City (2.5 hours drive with 15 mins toilet break).
Lunch at restaurant in Ho Chi Minh city.
Proceed to Cu Chi District (75km from Ho Chi Minh city) to visit Cu Chi Tunnels. Pay a visit to Cu Chi tunnel – an underground village, which became legendary during the 1960s for its role in the Vietnam War. The tunnels were part of an underground network that zigzagged from the southern tip of the Ho Chi Minh trail near the Cambodian border to the Saigon River.
Coach back to Ho Chi Minh city.
Enjoy Water Puppet Show at Golden Theatre.
Dinner at Ho Chi Minh city.
Check-in the hotel.
Debrief.
Lights out.

DAY 09: HO CHI MINH CITY – THE WAR REMNANT MUSEUM – DEPARTURE FOR SINGAPORE (B, L, D)

Coach back to Ho Chi Minh city. Check-out hotel.
Visit War Crime Museum to link to Vietnam war history
(This museum show case the equipments and tanks and airplanes used during the war. The cold war was actually the interest of the super power showing their technology pitting each other American with the machines, Russian with the special devices, tanks but the people here bears the pain above all. The interest of this super power resulted in killing a lot of people who are not interested in war but are caught in between. This museum is a reminder of the result of the war. It also serve to the people what war and fighting for power will only bring pain to the people. The people of Vietnam are separate in the North and the South instead of working together.
Tour in Ho Chi Minh city centre: the colonial-styled Post Office, City Hall, Opera House and the Notre Dame Cathedral, built between 1877 and 1883 and one of the city’s major landmarks.
Lunch Vietnamese famous traditional noodle – Pho 2000.
One hour free explore and buying some souvenir at Ben Thanh Market.
Board coach transfer to Airport.
SQ183 departure for Singapore.
Arrive Singapore. Tour end.
